Southampton lost 9-0 twice in recent memory and stayed up in both seasons. It’s one result and goal difference doesn’t often come into it at the end of a season. The real test is picking up morale afterwards - Hassenhutl pulled it off and I reckon Bielsa has a fighting chance. And Southampton’s were against much worse teams than this Man City. Maybe it won’t be nine but they will do this to a few teams this season I reckon. Only the very best will beat them!

Norwich are dreadful, going forward haven’t got a clue and give the ball away far too easily, relegation is nailed on for them.
Looks like Cricket at the Etihad? Leeds on this type of showing could be for the drop as well.....
Newcastle look nailed on as well, Eddie Howe wont save them.
Mind you if i could choose who went down, then none of these 3 (well perhaps Leeds!!!!) would get a look in Chelsea and Spurs, and ManU but that will NEVER happen.......

Agree with a few on Burnley - they’re the new Stoke or Bournemouth, it was fun for a while to see them have a chance but they’re not contributing anything and I suspect if they did go down then Dyche would go the way of Howe and be waiting for a Hail Mary shout from his next club after briefly being peddled as some kind of genius (see also Alan Pardew).
I think the whole country outside of Newcastle is hoping for Newcastle to go down now although unfortunately that will only exacerbate their fans’ sense of self-importance.
As for the third, out of the realistic shouts I’d love to be shot of Palace. As others have said the real London rivalries are part of what many of us look forward to, but they’re just a tinpot club who consider Brighton a rival because they’ve no chance of beating anyone else from the capital regularly. And I’m from Croydon and grew up surrounded by the fuckers, so that probably has something to do with it.
Unfortunately that all relies on a bit of a significant change at the bottom to drag Palace in. I can see Southampton clambering out of trouble and perhaps even Everton (probably only if they get shot of Benitez, but God only knows where they would turn next). But Norwich and to an extent Watford look pretty doomed. Leeds will probably be ok I reckon.

If we end up not playing Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea in the future it won’t be because of relegation but because those three might have lit off to super league pastures new.
And I would miss those six games a season where the rivalry is red hot. It’s what the game and supporting my team is all about for me.
